“This year’s Wammie Awards was an incredibly special celebration of the talent and resilience of the DMV music community that also helped support future musicians through donations from our VIP ticket holders and text-to-give contributors. We’re proud and humbled that our community of supporters helped raise almost $8,500 toward The MusicianShip’s free youth music education programming,” said Jeffery Tribble, Jr., Executive Director of The MusicianShip.

Wammie Awards programming is provided by The MusicianShip, a D.C.-based nonprofit that is focused on ‘Changing Lives with Music’.

Proceeds from the Wammie Awards help support The MusicianShip’s free-of-charge music programs that serve nearly 2000 youth and continues to be a resource for local D.C. artists and musicians. In addition to the Wammie Awards, The MusicianShip oversees the DC Funk Parade and The Washington Youth Choir.
